Day 01 & 02 - Negombo
Negombo is a small fishing town an ideal beach destination for incoming & outgoing travelers as it is located just 7 km away from the International Airport. The city was governed by the Dutch and Portuguese, &still has plenty to showcase its noteworthy colonial rule from the old Dutch Fort and Dutch Canal to the highly ornate St Mary’s Church, which is one of the larger cathedrals of Sri Lanka. The majority of the population here is Roman Catholic by faith. Many imposing churches, the sea, the Catamarans& the Fishing Village are the main highlights of Negombo.

Day 03 & 04 – Dambulla
Damublla is reminiscent of the past. For many centuries, the surroundings of Dambulla, an area of over fifty acres, was the habitation of forest dwelling monks. While these had minimal contact with the public, medication was their main strength. Archaeological data confirm that the cave shrines of Damublla, renowned as the temple of the infinite Buddhas, was a place of religious worship when the capital was at Anuradhapura. According to extant inscriptions, the cave in the shrine as well as in the surroundings were donated to the monks by royalty, nobility, monks and nuns. More recently, the climb to the cave shrine, 600 feet above the plains and 100 feet above sea level, has been made easier.

The ancient city of Kandy, located in Sri Lanka’s centre, is known to be the country’s cultural capital and an example of Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage. This beautiful city in the hills is ideal for relaxing and reflecting. The City is home to the tooth relic of the Lord Buddha and it is housed in the famous ‘Dalada Maligawa’ or ‘Temple of the Tooth’, which attracts thousands to the city every year including devotees as well as visitors who come to marvel at the beautiful architecture of the temple. Kandy is also home to many other old temples and other landmarks, including the amazing Peradeniya Botanical Gardens.

Nuwara Eliya, known as the garden city of Asia for its hills, valleys and waterfalls, is 6,182 feet above sea level and is situated at the foot of Mount Pidurutalagala, Sri Lanka's highest peak. Nuwara Eliya was discovered in 1819 by Sir Samuel Baker, the famous explore who discovered the source of the Nile. Thereafter, an English village was established, the remains of which can still be seen. The colonial government habitually moved to Nuwara Eliya for 3 months of the year: March, April and May, when Colombo was warm and humid. Since then, thousands of domestic and foreign tourists sojourn in Nuwara Eliya, to relish the salubrious climate, play golf, enjoy the park, admire the high grown tea plantations, visit the Hakgala gardens grown tea plantations, visit the Hakgala gardens and travel to Worlds End at Horton Plains, where there is a sudden drop in the terrain of several thousand feet.

The Yala National Park is the most famous wildlife sanctuary in Sri Lanka and this vast reserve is home to a multitude of fascinating wildlife as well as plant life. Deer, peacocks, wild boar, bears and herds of wild elephants are just some of the creatures that live here. Yala is also known as one of the best places to spot the ever illusive Sri Lankan leopard and is also home to an amazing array of endemic birds.
